The Right Water for Every Application

Water quality directly impacts experimental results. Contaminants like nucleases, endotoxins, ions, and organics can interfere with PCR, cell culture, chromatography, and spectrophotometry. Our lab-grade water products are manufactured and tested to application-specific purity standards so you can choose the right grade with confidence.

🛡️Nuclease-Free Water for Molecular Biology

Standard deionized water may contain trace DNases and RNases that degrade nucleic acids. For PCR, RT-qPCR, and RNA work, always use water tested and certified DNase-free, RNase-free, and protease-free. Our molecular biology grade water is DEPC-treated or ultrafiltered and tested by functional assays to confirm nuclease absence.

Lab Water FAQ

HPLC water has the highest ion purity but is not necessarily tested for nuclease activity. For PCR and RNA work, use water specifically certified as DNase/RNase-free. HPLC water is optimized for low UV background, not biological contaminants.

Use opened bottles within 1–2 weeks for molecular biology applications and within 1 month for general lab use. CO₂ absorption lowers pH over time, and microbial contamination risk increases after opening. Use smaller bottle sizes to minimize waste.

We offer both DEPC-treated and non-DEPC (ultrafiltration-purified) molecular biology water. DEPC-treated water has been autoclaved to hydrolyze residual DEPC. Non-DEPC water is preferred for RNA-seq and enzymatic applications where trace DEPC could inhibit reactions.

For bench-scale molecular biology, 500 mL bottles are most practical—small enough to use within their open-bottle shelf life. For buffer preparation and general lab use, 4 L and 20 L carboys offer better per-liter value.
