Automation-Compatible Pipette Tips
Robotic tips are precision-manufactured for automated liquid handlers that require exact dimensional tolerances for reliable tip pickup, liquid-level detection, and drop-off. Conductive tips contain a carbon-loaded polymer that enables capacitive liquid-level sensing (cLLD), allowing the robot to detect the liquid surface and prevent tip crashes or air aspiration.
Robotic tips are NOT interchangeable between platforms. Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman, and Agilent each use different tip geometries, nest formats, and conductivity specifications. Always verify your exact instrument model and tip nest configuration before ordering. Using the wrong tip can damage the instrument head or cause aspiration errors.

Conductive tips are made from carbon-loaded polypropylene that allows electrical current to flow through the tip wall. This enables the liquid handler to use capacitive liquid-level detection (cLLD), which senses when the tip contacts the liquid surface. This prevents over-aspiration, under-aspiration, and tip crashes into the vessel bottom.
Yes. We offer conductive tips compatible with Hamilton STAR, STARlet, and Nimbus platforms in 10 µL, 50 µL, 300 µL, and 1000 µL volumes. Available with and without filters, in sterile and non-sterile options, pre-loaded in Hamilton-format nested racks.
Tecan LiHa (Liquid Handling) tips fit the individual pipetting channels and are available in disposable or washable steel needle formats. Tecan MCA (Multi-Channel Arm) tips fit the 96-channel or 384-channel head and use a different tip geometry and nest format. They are not interchangeable.
Yes. We carry conductive filter tips for Hamilton and Tecan platforms. Filter tips include an aerosol barrier to prevent contamination of the pipetting channel, which is especially important in automated PCR setup, clinical sample processing, and forensic workflows where cross-contamination must be eliminated.
Store robotic tip racks in their original sealed packaging in a clean, dry environment at room temperature. Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of racks, as this can deform the tip nests and cause pickup failures. Sterile racks should remain sealed until use. Once opened, use within the timeframe specified for your sterility requirements.
