Essential Lab Glassware & Plasticware
Stock your lab with the everyday items that keep experiments running — from borosilicate glass beakers and reagent bottles to chemical-resistant plastic labware. We carry glassware for measurement, mixing, storage, and reaction across every volume range.
Glass vs. Plastic — When to use which
| Property | Borosilicate Glass | Polypropylene (PP) | Polystyrene (PS) | PETG |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Autoclavable | Yes (repeated) | Yes (121°C) | No | No (gamma only) |
| Chemical Resistance | Excellent (except HF) | Excellent | Moderate | Good |
| Thermal Shock | Resistant | N/A (flexible) | Poor | N/A |
| Transparency | Excellent | Translucent | Clear | Clear |
| Best For | Reactions, heating, measurement | Storage, autoclaving | Disposable single-use | Media bottles, filtration |
Common labware volumes
All our glass labware is borosilicate glass (3.3 expansion coefficient), which resists thermal shock up to 500°C, withstands acids and bases (except hydrofluoric acid), and can be autoclaved repeatedly without deformation.
Glassware & Plastics FAQ
Yes. Our glass labware is made from borosilicate glass (3.3 expansion coefficient), which is resistant to thermal shock, chemical corrosion, and mechanical stress.
Yes. We carry volumetric flasks in sizes from 10mL to 1000mL for quantitative analysis. Contact us for specific volume and tolerance class requirements.
Polypropylene (PP) items can be autoclaved at 121°C. Polystyrene (PS) and PETG items are NOT autoclavable. Check the material specification on each product before autoclaving.
Our glass reagent bottles use GL45 screw caps (standard blue polypropylene). Replacement caps and pour rings are available separately.
Yes. We carry standard 10mm pathlength cuvettes in polystyrene (disposable, for visible range) and quartz (reusable, for UV-Vis). Semi-micro and micro formats also available.
