WORKFLOW

SPE Cartridge Workflow

1

Condition

Activate the sorbent bed by passing methanol followed by water (or appropriate conditioning solvent) through the cartridge. Do not let the bed dry out between steps.

2

Load Sample

Pass your sample through the conditioned cartridge at a slow, steady flow rate. The target analytes bind to the sorbent while matrix components pass through.

3

Wash

Remove remaining matrix interferences with a wash solvent that retains your analytes on the sorbent. Solvent choice depends on the sorbent chemistry.

4

Elute

Elute your purified analytes with a strong solvent that disrupts their interaction with the sorbent. Collect the eluate for concentration and analysis.

💡SPE Sorbent Selection

C18 — Reversed-phase retention of non-polar to moderately polar analytes from aqueous samples. The most common SPE sorbent. MCE (Mixed Cellulose Ester) — Membrane filters for particulate removal and microbiology applications.

🛠️Filter Plates vs. Membrane Filters

96-well and 384-well filter plates enable high-throughput parallel sample cleanup using vacuum or centrifugation. Individual membrane filters are used for gravity or vacuum filtration of single samples. Choose based on your throughput needs.
