Everything You Need Between Passages
From harvesting adherent cells with scrapers to banking cell lines in cryogenic vials, these accessories support the daily and long-term maintenance of your cell culture lab. All products are sterile, individually wrapped, and designed to integrate seamlessly with standard tissue culture workflows.
Cell scrapers provide a gentle, enzyme-free method for detaching adherent cells, preserving surface proteins and receptors that trypsin can cleave. Use scrapers for flow cytometry surface marker analysis, signaling studies, and any protocol where intact surface antigens matter. Use trypsin for routine passaging where surface protein integrity is less critical.
Freeze cells at a controlled rate of −1°C per minute using an isopropanol-based freezing container or controlled-rate freezer. Use cryoprotectant (typically 10% DMSO in complete media) and freeze cells at high viability (≥90%). Transfer to liquid nitrogen (–196°C) within 24 hours for long-term storage.
Cell Maintenance FAQ
Use 18 mm (small) scrapers for 6-well plates and small dishes. Use 25 mm (standard) scrapers for 100 mm dishes and T-75 flasks. Larger blades cover more area per stroke, reducing scraping time and mechanical stress on cells.
Yes. Our internal-thread cryo vials are manufactured from medical-grade polypropylene rated for storage at –196°C (liquid nitrogen vapor phase). The silicone gasket ensures a leak-proof seal during freeze-thaw cycles.
A typical cryopreservation density is 1–5 × 10⁶ viable cells per mL in 1–2 mL total volume. Higher densities improve recovery rate but may reduce post-thaw viability for sensitive cell lines.
Yes. We offer isopropanol-based freezing containers that deliver the recommended −1°C/minute cooling rate when placed in a −80°C freezer. Simply fill with isopropanol, load your cryo vials, and freeze.
