Reliable Inoculating Tools for Microbiology
Whether you are streaking agar plates for isolated colonies, picking transformants, or transferring microbial cultures, our inoculating loops deliver consistent calibrated volumes. Disposable polystyrene loops eliminate cross-contamination risk and the need for flame sterilization between samples.
Use 1 µL loops for streak plating and semi-quantitative culture (standard for clinical microbiology and CFU estimation). Use 10 µL loops for inoculating liquid media, colony picking from dense plates, or when you need to transfer a larger volume of inoculum.
Disposable loops eliminate the risk of incomplete sterilization between samples—a common source of false positives in clinical and environmental microbiology. They also remove aerosol generation from flaming, improving biosafety when working with BSL-2 organisms.
Inoculating Loop FAQ
Yes. All disposable loops are individually wrapped and gamma-irradiated sterile. They are ready to use directly from the package without any further sterilization.
Our disposable loops are molded from medical-grade polystyrene with a flexible shaft. The calibrated loop end delivers a consistent 1 µL or 10 µL volume with each transfer.
Yes. Inoculating needles (straight tips without a loop) are available for stab inoculation into semi-solid media, motility testing, and single-colony picking from agar plates.
