A single-reagent enzymatic kit for the determination of total carbon dioxide (bicarbonate) in serum or plasma using the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) method. Bicarbonate reacts with PEP through PEPC and is coupled to malate dehydrogenase with NADH, producing a UV kinetic signal inversely proportional to CO₂ concentration. The formulation is optimized for on-board stability to minimize atmospheric CO₂ drift common to bicarbonate assays. Ready-to-use liquid reagents support efficient handling and analyzer loading. Supplied with R (60 mL × 2).
