How many reactions are in the kit?

What is the shelf life of the kit?

The kit is valid for 12 months after the manufactured date and should be stored frozen at -20±5°C.

How many controls should I run on a plate for my clinical samples?

We recommend running at least 2 sets of positive and negative controls in case one set fails

A set refers to running a positive and negative for each PCR mix.

How many patient samples can I run on a single plate?

  • 96 well plate format: 94 patient samples 
  • 384 well plate: 382 patient samples

*Running 1 positive control and 1 negative control for each PCR mix. We recommend 2 sets but you only need 1 set to maximize your samples per plate.

What is the estimated run time of the method with this kit?

The method is estimated to be about ~60 minutes. Some thermal cyclers will vary in the duration of the method.

What is the Limit of Detection (LOD) for this kit?

This kit has a sensitivity as low as 1 cp/uL, but will vary depending on your thermal cycler.

What is the stability of the prepared PCR plate?

Due to the nature of some RNA based analytes, it is best to prepare your plate and reagents as needed and not to let it sit at room temperature for extended periods of time. You should avoid storing the PCR reaction if possible; if it is needed, store the PCR reaction at -20°C for up to 30 minutes.
