How many reactions are in the kit?
What is the shelf life of the kit?
The kit is valid until the expiration date and should be stored in a -20°C storage.
How many controls should I run on a plate for my clinical samples?
We recommend running at least 2 sets of positive and negative controls in case one set fails (a set refers to running a positive and negative for ALL oligo mixes).
How many patient samples can I do in a single run?
96 Well Plate: 92 Patient Samples (assuming you are running 2 sets of positive and negative controls)
384 Well Plate: 380 Patient Samples (assuming you are running 2 sets of positive and negative controls and filling all the plate wells)
What is the estimated run time of the method with this kit?
The method is estimated to be about ~30 minutes. Some thermal cyclers will vary in the duration of the method.
What is the LOD for this kit?
This kit has a sensitivity as low as 2.5 cp/uL, but will vary depending on your thermal cycler.
What dyes/channels should my thermal cycler be calibrated for?
FAM and ROX
What is the stability of the prepared PCR plate? Am I able to store it in a freezer after making the reaction?
These PCR reactions for the Lumira kit are heat-sensitive. Use a cold block when creating and adding master mix. Premade reagents (such as a mixture between IC/P, Salt Mix, and Master Mix) should be made as needed and may should be stored in -20°C for up to 48 hours.
What are quantities of control and PCR mix?
Positive control: 500uL
Negative Control: 1.5mL
Master Mix: 2x 1mL
Internal Control & Primer Mix (IC/P Mix): 120uL
Salt Mix: 1mL
Extraction Buffer: 500uL
